A WOMAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of a head-on crash in East Hendred, near Wantage.
Crews were called to the crash between two vehicles along the A417 near to the junction of White Road about 5.35pm.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service found one driver, an elderly man, was already in the care of paramedics but the female driver of the other car involved was trapped inside.
The car roof was removed after suffering 'significant damage' in the collision and to allow for the female driver to be treated whilst firefighters tried to free her.
Watch Manager Jon Walker said: "The occupants have been very lucky on this occasion, the cumulative speed of the impact could have led to much more serious injuries.
"Please pay attention when you are out and about on the road this festive season, do not use anything that will cause a distraction and drive to the road and weather conditions.
"We wish you all a safe and happy festive holiday season."
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and Thames Valley Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
