THIS week’s Camera Club theme celebrated all things new as the world marked the start of 2018.
But here’s a photo we loved that looks back at the county’s past and captures the effect of the passing years.
Gordon Craig’s picture shows St Kenelm's Church, which has now seen 568 new years, captured from the ruins of the Minster Lovell Hall.
A church has stood on the site since the 12th century but the original building was demolished by William, 7th Baron Lovell, when he settled in the village in 1431.
The Baron built a new manor house and parish church in 1450.
Whilst the church has remained virtually unaltered since it was constructed, the hall, tower and dovecote which made up the rest of the site have fallen into a state of disrepair after being abandoned and partially demolished in the 18th century.
The picturesque ruins, sited in a rural setting beside the River Windrush, still make for an atmospheric photo as trees and plants reclaim the Medieval stone walls.
Mr Craig took this picture on Wednesday lunchtime, as a calm blue sky took over from the heavy winds of Storm Eleanor which buffeted the county this week.
He recommends anyone planning a visit in the coming days packs a pair of welling boots.
