THOUSANDS of management roles are being cut by Sainsbury’s, leading to fears jobs will be lost.
The supermarket chain, which has branches across the county, including superstores in Oxford and Didcot, made the announcement today.
Unite, the country’s largest union, has called for there to be no compulsory redundancies as a result of the changes and for the supermarket to offer redeployment opportunities for affected staff.
Sainsbury’s is removing the team leader/store supervisor roles in all of its stores, along with major changes to the department manager and deputy manager structure.
