A GOVERNMENT review of tuition fee policy has been criticised by Oxford East MP Anneliese Dodds.

The Shadow Treasury Minister for Labour, who have committed to scrapping university fees, said: “We already know the impact of the Conservatives’ hike in tuition fees to now more than £9000 a year: crippling levels of debt and reduced intakes for part-time and mature students.”

She called for ‘action, not talk’ from the government, adding: “This sector is the best in the world, but being treated like an ideological football is risking this pre-eminence”. The Prime Minister launched the education review in a speech yesterday.
