A MAN is being held by police on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Oxford.
Police were called to Owens Way, Temple Cowley, at about 8.40pm yesterday to reports of a stabbing.
A 39-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to the chest and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
It is understood that there were around four police cars on the scene, a team from the force's dog unit and a police helicopter hovering above.
People in the area witnessed the arrest and saw a man being taken away in an ambulance with a police escort.
A 27-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.
