CAMPAIGNERS will hold an annual meeting tonight to discuss a proposed £120m flood channel and plans to extend Seacourt Park and Ride into the floodplain.

The Oxford Flood Alliance will meet at West Oxford Democrats Club where members will address concerned residents.

The installation of temporary flood barriers in South Hinksey will also be on the agenda and a representative from Aviva will explain how the insurance industry is encouraging people to make the homes mores resilient against future flooding.

Oxford Flood Alliance member, Nick Hills, said: "The rise and fall of the water around us recently served as a reminder that floods can occur at any time and not just during the winter months."

Mr Hills lives in Earl Street, which has been flooded several times in recent years.

The meeting begins at 7.30pm.
