Middletown Grange Care Home, in Hailey, near Witney, underwent a major refurbishment over a 10-week period.

Staff, residents and their families joined Witney MP Robert Courts and the town’s mayor at the centre on May 25.

Furniture was replaced, walls redecorated and the reception area transformed.

Sharon Wheeler is the activities coordinator at the care home.

She said: “It’s not the typical care home look - it’s now very modern.

“It honestly does look amazing and the feedback has been great. People have said that it not only looks nice, but homely and classy.”

Staff used the event to show off the refurbished home to the local great and the good.

Witney Mayor Brenda Churchill spent the whole day there chatting to residents and care staff.

To top off the event there was an Elvis impersonator present to ensure all were entertained.

Ms Wheeler continued: “It was a nice thing for the staff after all their hard work while the refurbishment has been going on now that we’re out the other side.

“It’s all come together and now we have a really nice new look.

“Residents love it and families love it. It’s just so far from looking clinical like some care homes can look.”
