A MAN was injured and taken to hospital after being attacked in an alleyway in Banbury.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the 27-year-old victim was assaulted whilst walking down the alleyway which runs from School Lane to Castle Street - next to the Majestic Wine warehouse last Thursday.
The force said the attack is belived to have happened in the alley about 10am and the man had to be taken to hospital with a stomach injury.
He has since been discharged.
Thames Valley Police said there is no description of the offender.
It added that a 21-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of assault with injury and has since been released with no further action.
Investigating officer detective constable Bryan Groves said: "This incident left the victim requiring hospital treatment.
"I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or who has information that will help our investigation to please get in touch."
