A CAT owner is appealing for help after her pet was attacked with super glue last weekend.

Trudi Rowland, from Abingdon, was shocked when she discovered her cat Rosie covered in the substance on Saturday morning.

It took an emergency six-hour operation at a local vet to completely clean Rosie of the glue, leaving the fur without most of its hair and Mrs Rowland £1000 worse off.

With Mrs Rowland struggling to pay for the treatment her sister set up a gofundme page, which has already raised £360.

The lifelong Abingdon resident does not know why her pet was covered in the liquid but believes it was for malicious reasons.

She said: “I thought someone had thrown water over her but realised it was something really thick and nasty.

“It was a horrible mess - it seemed like some kind of adhesive but it didn’t smell.

“It seems that someone has held her down or poured it over her.”

Mrs Rowland’s sister, Teresa Barrett, set up the fundraising page without being prompted and the response has been overwhelming, with 32 donations contributing to the total.

Mrs Rowland said: “It’’s good to know some good people remain in the world.”

Fur only remains on Rosie’s legs, head and tail and the tortoiseshell cat is now scared to go outside, Mrs Rowland revealed.
