CHILDREN in southern Oxfordshire have been treated to a masterclass in cartoon drawing by a well known illustrator.
Youngsters at Wantage Library had the session with Clive Goddard, a Private Eye cartoonist and author and illustrator of ‘Fintan Fedora’.
Children learnt how to draw a range of faces and animals, and a cartoon storyboard featuring a character called ‘Eustace the Unicorn'.
Library manager James Keen said: "The children have really enjoyed learning how to draw different things, and it is lovely to see how interested they were.
"They asked Clive lots of questions about how to draw their favourite animals, and it was great seeing how they used their imagination to turn a wiggly circle into sheep and a wiggly line into worms."
The event was part of the Summer Reading Challenge, ‘Mischief Makers’, which is running in all Oxfordshire Libraries this summer and celebrates the 80th birthday of the Beano
