JURORS are deliberating in the case of four men accused of murder on an Oxford street.
Four men - Michael Yemane, 20, of South Bridge Row, Oxford; Welid Solomon, 25, of Field Avenue, Oxford; Sasan Mohammed Khalid, 19, of no fixed abode; and Safeen Abdullah Karimi, 28, of Hode Garth, Thame, are all on trial at Oxford Crown Court accused of murder.
They are accused of killing 22-year-old Luciano Dos Santos Almeida in Southfield Road, Oxford, shortly after 11.30pm on February 27.
Prosecutors claim that Mr Almeida was hit by a car driven by Solomon before being fatally stabbed multiple times.
Solomon also denies a further count of doing acts tending to pervert the course of justice by setting fire to a car allegedly used in the killing.
READ AGAIN: A report from the opening of the case last month.
Yesterday, after hearing a final summing up from presiding Judge Ian Pringle QC jurors were sent out to begin their deliberations in order to reach their verdicts.
At the start of the trial last month prosecutors said that the four men had first hunted their victim before they 'meted out retribution' for an earlier attack.
Jurors were told that Mr Almeida was stabbed multiple times after he was run over and he later died in hospital of his injuries.
Witnesses who heard the attack said they could hear Mr Almeida scream 'help, help, help' before police swarmed on the area and paramedics arrived.
All four men have gone to the witness box to give their accounts and deny any wrong-doing during the case.
The trial continues.
