A day of activities for dads and their children could become an annual event after hundreds of families enjoyed fun in the sun in South Oxford at the weekend.
The organisers of the first Dads go Wild event, held on Saturday at South Oxford adventure playground, in Grandpont, said its success could lead to many more similar events.
The day was run by volunteers from Donnington Children's Centre and the Oxfordshire Parenting Forum and featured football workshops from Oxford United, a fire engine, live music from South Parade, a barbecue, circus skills and many other games and activities.
Volunteer Martin Dowie, a 46-year-old father-of-one, from Botley, said: "Everyone said they enjoyed it and I don't think they were just being polite. There was something for every age group and temperament. I think it would be nice if it was an annual thing, but that depends on the dads at the children's centres."
