County house prices fall sharply


The rate at which house prices are falling in Oxfordshire is accelerating quickly, according to official figures produced today.

Statistics produced by the Land Registry show the average price of a house in Oxfordshire in November was £232,455 compared with £253,665 for the same month last year — a drop of £21,210 or 8.4 per cent.

Prices also dropped month-on-month from October to November by 1.9 per cent, shaving £4,576 off the price of the average property.

Nationally, average prices dropped by 12.2 per cent to stand at £161,883.

The difference between fact and fiction supplied by estate agents squtting themselves senseless and releasing press releases trying to tell us whats happening, isnt happening except the government is now telling us that it is happening.

OXFORD (i.e. the city centre) is/was supposed to be more recession proof, not Oxfordshire.

The only drops I have seen in the city centre are properties that were way overpriced to begin with, and so much cheaper to rent rather than buy.
