A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two robberies that took place in Oxford at 5.30pm yesterday and 2.30am today.
The first robbery took place in Mortimer Road, Rose Hill, where a 15-year-old foreign student was threatened by two men before being made to hand over his mobile phone.
The second robbery took place in Marston Road, Marston, where a 33-year-old man returning home in his car was approached by a man as he was exiting the vehicle.
He became worried about the man and tried to get back into the car, but was stopped from shutting the car door and the robber demanded he hand over the key.
After an altercation, the robber made off in the man’s car which was found after it crashed in Morrell Avenue.
A man was arrested and is still in police custody.
