THE Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials return this weekend.

Until Sunday, visitors to the Woodstock palace will have the opportunity to watch some of the world’s best riders in action.

Today, dressage in the main arena continued, along with a dressage to music display from Beverley Brightman with her PSG horses.

Cross-country will be the main spectacle on Saturday, and the decider show jumping will be in the main arena on Sunday. There will also be a show jumping masterclass with Graham Fletcher, plus a display by the Quainton stallions.

The horse trials, which were first held in 1990, are Oxfordshire’s biggest sporting event.

There will be more than 175 varied shops, a children’s play area, and many catering outlets.

A free attractions arena will feature displays and demonstrations for all the family, including The Dodson and Horrell Cross-country and Show Team Jumping Challenge for Riding Club and Pony Club teams.

Parking for the horse trials is complimentary. Children under 12 and accompanied by an adult get free entry throughout the event.
