Owner of 'Didcot' number plate puts it up for auction on eBay

THE race is on to become Didcot's coolest motorist by winning an online auction for number plate D10COT.

The DVLA number plate was bought seven years ago as an investment by 36-year-old Marc Joines, of Swinburne Road, Oxford, and has never been fitted to a car.

He took a punt on Didcot's future growth to buy D10COT for £650.

He has put it up for auction on eBay, with a starting price of £1,000.

He said: “I knew Didcot was an up and coming town. Now it’s a much bigger place than it was, I think the time is right to sell it.”

I don't know that "coolest" is the right word. I think "saddest" would be more appropriate.

Anything is worth what the buyer will pay for it. I'd love to see a note regards the final sum offered.

I fail to see why you would want to put that on your car!

Just seen this on Ebay and it didn't sell surprise surprise!!! maybe try starting it at £0.01 with no reserve and you might get some interest, not starting it at £1000 looking to get more than that, to be honest though I agree with BeegRichs' comment above.
