Man charged with Banbury murder

Police tonight charged a man with murder following an incident in Banbury.

Antony Bebbington, aged 24, of Ruscote Arcade, Longelandes Way, was charged this evening. He remains in custody and will appear before Banbury Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.

The victim has been formally identified as 25-year-old Paul Howkins, of Hardwick, Banbury.

Mr Howkins died this morning. He was admitted to Horton General Hospital on Monday evening suffering from serious head injuries, after being found in a stairwell in Ruscote Arcade, Longelandes Way.
