Some rough sleepers have been moved from an area of East Oxford, the city council said.

The former Victorian rubbish tip on the banks of the River Cherwell and River Thames at the bottom of Jackdaw Lane, East Oxford, has been used by homeless people for several months.

City council spokesman Louisa Dean said: “We are aware that a number of rough sleepers at Aston's Eyot have moved from the site.

"The Street Services Team and Thames Valley Police continue to work closely with all these people and to date a further two have been accommodated."
