Burglars steal silverware in Henley break-in

Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a home in Henley, where burglars stole thousands of pounds worth of antique silverware.

Burglars forced their way into the property in Makins Road some time between 1.30pm on Saturday and 3.50pm on Sunday.

Items stolen included a silver salt set dating from 1863 and silver and cranberry glass dishes that are pictured here, which are valued at approximately £2,000.

PC Rich Allmond said: “The items that have been stolen are very distinctive and have a lot of sentimental value to the owners.

“I would urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and help us with our investigation. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered items like these to buy.”
