A nightclub doorman is in custody following an incident which left a reveller with a fractured skull.

Police and paramedics were called to Kukui, in Park End Street, Oxford, at about 12.40am yesterday.

A 24-year-old man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with serious head injuries.

Today officers arrested a 29-year-old doorman on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He is being questioned at St Aldate's police station.
