Police today appealed for witnesses after a young cyclists was injured in a collision in Wallingford.

A 12-year-old boy was cycling to Wallingford School along St George's Road, from the direction of Cross Keys public house. As he approached the junction of Millington Road and St George's Road, a red vehicle tried to overtake the cyclist and hit his handlebars, causing him to fall off his bicycle.

The vehicle failed to stop.

The boy suffered scrapes and bruises but was not seriously injured.

The collision happened at about 8.20am last Thursday, but details were only released today.
