MODERN Art Oxford has a new entrance and a new cafe area following a £300,000 refurbishment.

A new main entry point has been created in St Ebbe’s Street and a utility room has been converted into the new courtyard-style cafe.

An existing entrance in Pembroke Street remains, but it now leads directly to a gallery space.

The new areas, which were opened to the public at the weekend, were designed by artist Richard Woods and dRMM architects and took two months to complete.

Modern Art Oxford director Michael Stanley, said: “Some people are slightly shocked but the brilliant thing is now there is a really big opening on St Ebbe’s we are attracting people who arguably in the past might not have known we were there.

“Now they are incredibly intrigued by what they can see.”
