Oxfordshire's biggest sporting event, the Blenheim International Horse Trials (August 31-September 3) provides a fantastic opportunity to see the world's best riders in action in the spectacular setting of Blenheim Palace.

Last year Zara Phillips thrilled the home crowd when winning the event, when it also doubled as the European Championships.

With the event falling inside the school holidays this year, there's something for everyone, with fantastic shopping, classic car driving opportunities, children's entertainment, including Waitrose's cooking studio and Owls Galore, plus sheepdog and falconry displays.

Admission is free for children aged 14 and under.

The dressage phase of the horse trials takes place on Thursday and Friday, when there is also Pony Club and Riding Club teams showjumping, plus free entrance for shopping after 3pm.

The exciting cross-country element is on Saturday and the show jumping finale, plus arena programme and Celebrity Pairs Cross-Country, is on Sunday.

The Oxford Times is offering you the chance to win a first prize of a chauffeur-driven trip to the cross-country day (Saturday, September 2), courtesy of Volkswagen, official vehicle supplier.

The winner and three friends will be collected from the winner's home by chauffeur-driven Volkswagen Touraeg and taken to Blenheim.

There they will have a picnic hamper plus badges to the Members' Enclosure, where they can relax and watch a cross-country fence.

The Members' Enclosure has bar and restaurant facilities, CCTV, garden and private lavatories.

At the end of the day the four will return home by chauffeur-driven Volkswagen Touraeg.

Five runners-up will receive pairs of adult admission tickets to Saturday's cross-country. To enter, simply tell us what title Zara Phillips won at Blenheim last year.

Answers should be received by Friday, July 14. Entries should be posted to Blenheim Horse Trials OT, Promotions Department, Newspaper House, Osney Mead, Oxford, OX2 0EJ. Normal newsquest rules apply.
