X Factor finalist Amelia Lily has fallen at the final hurdle in the competition as she was booted out of the show in third place.

Mentored by Kelly Rowland, Amelia got the lowest number of votes from the public following two performances in front of 10,000 people at Wembley Arena, in north London.

Girl band Little Mix and Liverpudlian Marcus Collins will now go head-to-head in tomorrow night's show to battle it out for the X Factor crown in the second instalment of the final.

The 17-year-old comeback kid from Nunthorpe in Middlesbrough vowed that this "wasn't the last of Amelia Lily".

She said: "Can I just say thank you to everyone who voted me back into the competition. My ambition was to get to the final and I did it."

Little Mix and their mentor Tulisa Contostavlos screamed and leapt in the air before hugging each other as their names were called as the first act to go through to tomorrow's show by host Dermot O'Leary.

The finalists all teamed up with their mentors on stage tonight to perform, in another first for the talent show. Marcus said his duet of Billy Joel's She's Always A Woman To Me with Gary Barlow was dedicated to his mother who he "couldn't have done it without".

Little Mix sang an Alicia Keys medley of If I Ain't Got You and Empire State Of Mind with Tulisa as their "fifth member".

The final pair to perform were Kelly and Amelia who sang the soul classic River Deep - Mountain High.

Amelia said: "I couldn't have asked for a better mentor. This lady has been the biggest person in my life right now and she is just an incredible inspiration to me."
