VISITORS to Broad Street can get an early glimpse of the treasures lying in store when Oxford New Bodleian Library reopens as the Weston Library.

Hoardings stretching 45m along the entire side of the library were erected this week, presenting a colourful A to Z take on the library’s world-famous collections.

The colourful hoardings will stay in place until 2014, while building work is carried out as part of a £78m scheme to modernise the library.

An image of a Bodleian treasure has been chosen for each letter of the alphabet, which proved something of a challenge for a library with nine million items and 10,000 special collections.
