AN RAF sergeant raised more than £1,000 for the NSPCC with a snooker marathon at RAF Brize Norton.
Sgt Marc Cowling, flight operations manager of 99 Squadron, played against 63 of his colleagues during the 24-hour stint on Sunday and Monday – and won every game.
He said: “It was quite difficult but it went really well. It is a nice amount of money to have raised and it was really, really worthwhile.
“I really enjoyed it and I had brilliant support.”
He added: “I am tired but I managed to get a room in the sergeant’s mess and sleep for a bit, and I am used to working nights so it was not too bad.”
Sgt Cowling used to play for the Plymouth under-21s snooker team when he was younger.
He hopes to raise another pot cash for the NSPCC later this year or early next year with a marathon run from north to south Devon.
