SCALES OF JUSTICE: Some of the recent cases at Oxford Magistrates' Court

Robert Pyne, 38, of Ashurst Way, Oxford, admitted shoplifting vodka valued at £105.72 from a Co-op store in Oxford on April 9. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Oliver Robinson, 39, of Mattock Close, Oxford, admitted shoplifting Versace perfume valued at £14.99 from Superdrug in Oxford on December 8. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.

James Swandle, 49, of Welford Gardens, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Abingdon, on February 25. Had 92 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Told to do 60 hours’ unpaid work and pay £85 costs. Banned from driving for 23 months.

l Dale Perkins, 20, of Malford Road, Oxford, admitted three counts of assault by beating on Christmas Day. Given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for a year, with 12 months’ supervision and 150 hours’ unpaid work. Told to pay £800 compensation and £85 costs.

Janeen Sawatzky, 29, of Richmond Road, Oxford, admitted arson by causing £291.43 of damage to a car in Oxford on December 30. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

Gareth Spencer, 33, of Littlefield, Littlemore, admitted driving without a licence and insurance in Abingdon, on December 14. Fined £200 and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.

Jason El-Issa, 24, of Morrell Avenue, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis in Oxford on September 15. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Jonathan Hide, 32, of no fixed address, admitted criminally damaging a window pane at Mahogany hairdresser’s in Oxford on April 6. Given a six-month conditional discharge.

Laurie Marcks, 18, Ashgate, Abingdon, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Abingdon’s Market Place on March 24. Fined £36, and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

Stefan Abbott, 46, of Anson Close, Marcham, admitted drink-driving in Hadden Hill on December 7. Had 251 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80 milligrams. Fined £1,500, and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for two years.

Nicole Allen, 22, of Great Western Drive, Didcot, admitted shoplifting £80 of food and alcohol from Co-op in Abingdon on February 24 and shoplifting £8.58 of cider from Budgens in Abingdon on February 26. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £48.58 compensation.

Jack Green, 18, of Coltsfoot Square, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a fear of immediate violence in Oxford on February 26. Given a 12-month conditional dishcarge and told to pay £50 costs.
