New charges in child sex inquiry
TWO brothers have been charged with nearly 30 new offences in an investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of children in Oxford.
Mohammed and Bassan Karrar appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning.
The pair spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth.
The brothers were remanded in custody to next appear in Amersham in June.
The Karrars have been charged as part of Thames Valley Police’s Operation Bullfinch, which saw raids on addresses across Oxford on March 22.
So far, 15 men and one woman have been arrested. They include six men who have been charged.

The majority of alleged offences are said to have taken place in Oxford, but two charges are listed as High Wycombe and Reading.
Neither defendant made a bail application and District Judge Andrew Vickers remanded them both in custody.
The brothers are next scheduled to appear at Amersham Courthouse, part of Aylesbury Crown Court, on Friday, June 22.
The other men charged in connection with the investigation are 26-year-old Kamar Jamil, of Aldrich Road, North Oxford; 31-year-old Akhtar Dogar, of Tawney Street, East Oxford; Zeshan Ahmed, 26, of Palmer Road, Wood Farm, and 30-year-old Anjun Dogar of Tawney Street, East Oxford.
