Boat race man denies charge

THE swimmer who disrupted this year’s university boat race has denied causing a public nuisance.

The annual contest was stopped after Trenton Oldfield was spotted in the water on April 7. The 36-year-old of Myrdle Street, East London, appeared at Isleworth Crown Court in West London yesterday.

He was released on bail to stand trial on September 24.

Probably he's intending on going to trial so he can get maximum publicity.

Originally it was to be a Section 5 Public Order Act charge. It wasn't as "low" in the criminal food chain as that. It was a Section 4A, intentional harassment. Now it's been overcharged and could go to a jury unless CPS gets it right. All that's needed is a Restraining Order to stop this Silly Little Rich Boy showing off for the next 3 years.

CPS going for the big one, not guilty methinks.
