A TEENAGER has died after being pulled out of the water near Donnington Bridge.
Emergency services spent two hours searching for the 15-year-old boy after being called at about 8.30pm yesterday.
A fire service spokesman said it appeared the teenager may have jumped off Donnington bridge.
Hundreds of people watched rescuers in their desperate search for the teenager.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but it was later announced he was dead.
The ambulance service received multiple calls from members of the public that a man was unconscious in the water.
Firefighters deployed spotters up and down stream to find the teenager and eventually pulled him out of the water and into a rescue boat.
Witnesses said the police helicopter was also used in the search.
