Commuter link inquiry reopens

OXON: The public inquiry into a multi-million pound Rail link between Oxford and London Marylebone will resume today.

The inquiry into Chiltern Railways’ £130m Evergreen 3 scheme, which initially ran between January 2010 and January 2011, resumes at 10am at the Kassam Stadium, in Grenoble Road.

The reconvened inquiry will consider conservation issues, including measures to protect Port Meadow and the Trap Grounds nature reserve, together with possible planning conditions to mitigate noise problems.

The inquiry, which sits this week but not next, is due to finish on June 13.
