Investigation after narrowboat blaze

AN empty narrowboat has been destroyed after a fire.

The Fire Service was called just after 1am to a boat on fire near Duke’s Cut, on the Oxford Canal, by the Wolvercote roundabout, in North Oxford.

Thames Valley Police is investigating the cause.

Probably to make a new mooring, the costs to boaters are just too much and this will make space for a new one. The said Narrowboat had been derelict for some time, a bit like an empty house.

It was actually a hire boat awaiting recovery that was burnt out this weekened.
