11:00am Saturday 1st September 2012 in News
CAR crash victim Elaine Boddington has been described as the “perfect neighbour” by residents of her Witney cul-de-sac.
Mrs Boddington, who had this summer become a grandmother, died on Monday after an accident in Finstock last Friday evening. The 66-year-old had lived in French Close for more than 40 years. The mum-of-two was on her way to the Horton Hospital in Banbury to visit her elderly mother when her blue Nissan Micra hit a wall and overturned in Witney Road. She died of her injuries at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital .
Peter Scarfe, 48, her neighbour of 26 years, said Mrs Boddington’s daughter Sally had recently given birth to a baby boy.
He said: “Whenever I saw her she had things to say about him.”
Dad-of-two David Clyne, 52, said: “She was the perfect neighbour to have. She will be sorely missed. It’s tragic.”
Retired town centre bank clerk Mrs Boddington had Parkinson’s disease and was a member of the Oxford and district branch of Parkinson’s UK.
