Have your say on revised Barton West plans
6:10pm Wednesday 5th September 2012 in News
RESIDENTS have until the end of the week to put their views forward on the changed plans for the Barton West scheme.
Oxford City Council had originally hoped to create an “urban boulevard” along the A40 Northern Bypass but this was scrapped after a public inquiry.
Planning inspector Dr Shelagh Bussey expressed concern about the council’s plans to lower the speed limit to 40mph and this, along with other elements of the Barton Area Action Plan, has been removed.
That meant the plans had to go out for consultation again, finishing on Friday. The plans will be discussed by councillors on Thursday, September 20, before Dr Bussey holds further public hearings on Friday, September 21, and Monday, September 24.
