Police cordon off Banbury High Street
ROBBERS have struck at a Banbury jewellery shop.
The incident happened this morning at Michael Jones Jeweller, in High Street, Banbury, around 11am.
At the moment it is not clear how many thieves were involved or whether they were armed.
It is believed a smoke bomb was used.
In 2009 four masked robbers smashed display cabinets with sledgehammers and stole £330,000 of expensive watches and jewellery from the same shop.

So perhaps if it was targeted because of "the poor standard of policing in Banbury" and because it has been robbed several times before.......they really should have done some very basic research on how the previous perpetrators didnt manage to evade TVP either!

Part of the function and responsibility of the police (even in Banbury) is to act as a deterrent, to be pro-active and to prevent crimes!
By simply having to mop up means that they have failed in the first place!
I hope that you now have a clearer understanding of why your comment is totally irrelevant.
By the dismissive attitude though I would assume that you are part of TVP in which case your comment is dismissed as invalid!
Well done to the members of the public who had to do the job that the police should do!
But how embarrassing it is for the local police… Perhaps they should consider giving some of their wages to the members of the public who bravely had to catch & detain the offender and done what they are paid to do??

But speeding takes up the majority of police time, as 6 units from Bicester called in last week to pull over a council street cleaner proves. Get your priorities right Jeff. We all know you are perfection personified, but to want to waste police time on speeding and not the first mentioned crimes is way off the mark.
Speeding is anti-social behaviour. Anyone who lives along a small road which is effectively divided by this behaviour, unsafe for residents, particularly children, elderly and disabled, should understand this perfectly well. It is behaviour which damages our society, therefore it is anti social.

Its not surprising though as its probably targeted due to the poor standard of policing in Banbury and its incompetent officers...easy picking!!
