BY day Tim Crysell is armed with a squeegee mop to clean windows at offices and schools around Oxfordshire.

But by night he downs the tools of his trade to put on a £3,000 jumpsuit and pick up a microphone for his other life as an Elvis impersonator.

Mr Crysell, 52, has worked for East Oxford-based cleaning firm DF Williams for the past 20 years and is now one of their managers.

But his love of The King’s music has led to him performing as an impersonator at pubs and private parties around Oxfordshire.

The dad from Wootton near Abingdon said: “I got into this by accident because my son Jamie Saczak is a talented pool player.

“He was playing down in Southsea and afterwards I did Teddy Bear and Viva Las Vegas on the karaoke and this guy came over and said ‘how much do you charge?’ “He told me that I was a lot better than a friend of his in London who was an Elvis impersonator who charged £1,000 a night.

“I realised I could make a bit of pocket money out of it and now charge about £225 for a performance over two-and-a-half to three hours.

He will appear at the Crown and Thistle in Abingdon on Saturday and at The Bystander pub in Wootton on Saturday, October 20.

Mr Crysell’s partner Jacqueline Saczak, 53, a receptionist at Fitzharrys School in Abingdon, said: “I’m really proud of Tim.”
