Help to trace family
2:10pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
A BLIND Oxford nonagenarian has appealed for help tracing her extended family.
Mary Walton, 95, of Chiswell Road, Grandpont, who suffers from macular eye disease, made the appeal after she met relatives she never knew she had at the Seacourt Bridge pub after the funeral of her sister-in-law Edie Walton four weeks ago.
Mary and her sister-in-law were the last two remaining people who attended her wedding to George Walton at Saint Frideswide Church on Botley Road on August 7, 1939.
Edie’s son David and Mary, whose maiden name was Coulling, hope to track down the Turners and Kings who lived on the corner of Earls Street, as well as in the Stanley Close, Hutchcomb Road, Elm Rise, and Duke Street area.
If you can help write to Mary at 3, Chilswell Road, Oxford, OX1 4PQ.
