TRAIN operator First Great Western has stepped in to keep the Charlbury railbus routes C1 and T1 running today after operator RH Transport went into administration.

FGW has contracted City Taxis of Oxford and Masons Coaches to provide vehicles for the two bus routes which link Charlbury station with the town and nearby villages including the Wychwoods, Finstock and Leafield. Services are operating to normal timetables.

In addition, the following services to replace cancelled RH buses, which are being provided by Stagecoach free of charge today and tomorrow, will also operate on Monday, again free of charge:

18 Clanfield – Bampton – Oxford
19 Carterton – Bampton – Witney
63 Longworth – Eaton – Oxford (but not the 4:30pm journey from Oxford)
64 Carterton- Lechlade – Swindon
67/67A Wantage - Stanford – Faringdon
X8 Chipping Norton - Churchill - Kingham - Kingham station (this will run between Chipping Norton and Kingham station only, with no services to the Wychwoods villages)
X9 Witney – Charlbury - Chipping Norton (except late-night services)
X15 Witney – Southmoor- Abingdon
X47 Wantage – Swindon (Saturday-only service)
