GRANDPONT residents descended on Hogacre Common for a harvest festival.

It was the second year the festival had been held and there was a ceilidh band, apple pressing and food fresh from the fields.

Phil Doubtfire, who lives in Western Road, said: “It was a good day.

“My son, Freddy, had a great time.

“There was beer, there was dancing and the children had a nice time running around.”

The event on Sunday had been organised by OxGrow which is based on the common.

Hogacre Common is the former Corpus Christi sportsground which is now managed as a community space by Low Carbon South Oxford.
