HUNTING for a home can be a time-consuming and frustrating endeavour. But now The Oxford Times offers not only the best and brightest property section in the county but also a new Oxford Times Property App to search for a new home on your iPhone and iPad or your Android-powered phone or tablet.

It follows hot on the heels of The Oxford Times app, which has been downloaded to more than 3,000 devices.

Our new Property App combines the huge selection of choice available in our weekly supplement with all the interactivity of the Internet — and on the move.

The app is free from the relevant app store and allows you to conveniently browse across all the properties our advertising estate agents have on their books, or narrow your search down to specific types of property.

There are thousands of properties within 25 miles of Oxford city centre available for you to view.

What’s great about the app is that if you are in a neighbourhood you fancy, it can work out where you are and then deliver the nearest homes on the market straight into the palm of your hand.

Lisa Wrintmore, the regional digital manager for The Oxford Times’s publisher Newsquest Oxfordshire, said: “The property section in the newspaper is still a fantastic way to search for homes, but the app offers our readers a way to hunt for specific proeprties quickly.

“The app is designed to be easy to use on the go.

“The whole key to smartphones is the touchscreen and ease of use and our property app fits that perfectly.

“Within just a few seconds you can discover, for instance, all the two-bedroom flats within two miles of your current location, within a certain price range.

“You then can select one of the homes, see the pictures, read a description, get the property particulars, check its location on a map and see which estate agent is marketing the property. You can also email all of those details to a friend, right from within the app. It couldn’t be simpler.”
