A 22-YEAR-old man has today been found not guilty of sexual assault and rape following a five-day trial at Reading Crown Court.

The Oxford Mail can now reveal this was part of the Bullfinch investigation.

Sameer Tasib, of Wilkins Road, Oxford, was cleared by a jury of both offences on a girl, who was aged 13 and 14 at the time.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Insp Kevin Parsons said: “We have a clear duty to investigate complaints of Child Sexual Exploitation and support all victims.

“The decision to charge Sameer Tasib was jointly made with the Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service and was based on all the evidence compiled during the investigation.

“The jury has listened to all the evidence put forward and has found Sameer Tasib not guilty.

“We are disappointed with today’s result, but we respect the decision of the court."
