A CONSULTANTS' report into what can be done to prevent Pound Lane flooding again should be with the county council at the end of next month.
It is almost certain the consultants will recommend that the best way to stop another flood in the Marlow road is to install a pumping system.
Last week in Marlow, Wycombe area manager for the county council Mike Knight told a meeting of the Wycombe area committee: "Pumping may be necessary and that will be expensive. Where will the money come from?"
Wycombe area highways maintenance engineer Ian Cunningham told the Free Press the consultants were looking into the best way to provide a drainage system that would deal with the problems.
Pound Lane has just reopened. The footway has been repaired but only temporarily and Mr Knight said it needed major maintenance work.
