I THOUGHT we played really well in the first half at Darlington and really knocked the ball about well, which was rewarded by us going a couple of goals up.

But it was their last game at Feethams so they were always going to want to produce a good result to see off the stadium, though I felt their first goal was about three yards offside.

But that got them back into the game and after they scored their equaliser we needed a great save at the end from Glenn Morris to earn us a point.

After the game we had our end of season drink-up in Newcastle, and while we were in good spirits I am pleased to say that we didn't get into any trouble.

We went down to the bars on the Quayside and found somewhere that was playing cheesy dance music so we stayed in there for a bit. I have to admit that I was probably the worst dancer out of the lot of us, but I think maybe I was maybe letting my hair down a bit more than the others as it was my last trip away with the lads.

We certainly found out that both Greg Heald and Wayne Purser have got what it takes both on and off the pitch, because they settled in well on their first real trip away with us. Chris Tate's girlfriend is a manager of a nightclub up there so that is where we finished the night off, and some of us stayed up In Newcastle until Monday.

As a footnote, I have to say that Purse wasn't the best of flyers on the way back and I don't think having Tatie shouting his mouth off around him really made him feel at ease at 10,000ft.
