GRANTS are available for voluntary and community groups planning events for Black History Month.
Preparations have already begun for the month-long event in October, celebrating both history and culture through a wide variety of events and activities in Lewisham.
Lewisham Council is inviting groups to apply for funding through community grant applications. Only a limited number of grants can be made and the council is urging groups to submit imaginative ideas.
Groups hoping to organise events need to have submitted applications by May 16. For more information, call arts development officer Sasha Leacock on 020 8297 8521.
