Vigil held for Holocaust Day

A small group gathered in the cold to mark Holocaust Memorial Day yesterday.

A short vigil at the peace plaque outside New Road Baptist Church in Bonn Square was held before a reflection service – attended by about 50 people – at Oxford Town Hall.

The day not only remembers the millions who were murdered during the Holocaust, but also those in the genocides in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and Darfur.

I don't think Cambodia qualifies since Pol Pot murdered people of his own "genus". And I'm not splitting hairs . The whole Blair notion of commemorating one mass murder when there are so many-Mao Tse Tung, Stalin (Hitler) The Turks (of the Armenians) and the Lords' Resistance Army in order of victim numbers, though equally vile- was no doubt beneficial electorally. He'd not have done it otherwise. But it does tend to diminish the sufferingsof others under tyranny. And adding a little selection of Bosnia, Rwanda and Darfur makes the omission of well in excess of 100 million victims even more egregious.

Why is there no mention of the mass murder at this moment being committed by the Jews against the Palestinians on a daily basis.

A-because it's not happening
B-because genetically they are identical, so if it was happening it wouldn't be a "genocide"
