AN ELECTRICAL engineer has been handed a 16-month prison sentence after illegal pills were found in his locker when he was jailed for a knife attack.

Glen Hodgetts, of Kingfisher Grove, Wantage, is already serving a 21-month sentence at Bicester’s Bullingdon Prison for slashing a teenager with a knife and assaulting a woman.

But after the 46-year-old was put in jail after 12,500 Phenazepam pills were found in his locker at butchers Muchmeats in Witney, where he had worked.

The collection of Class C drugs was estimated to be worth more than £12,000.

Also found on January 2 this year was a stash of cannabis worth £4,500.

Hodgetts, who admitted possessing both drugs with intent to supply earlier this month, was jailed for a further 16 months by Judge Gordon Risius at a sentencing hearing at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

In a hearing earlier this month, prosecutor Jonathan Stone said Hodgetts had received the package containing the drugs from the Far East and had intended to send it on to Edinburgh in Scotland.

Hodgetts was jailed in September last year after admitting wounding and assault following the attacks in March.

The court then heard the father-of-two had been drinking and had taken valium before the incident.
