ED Vaizey visited a soil testing laboratory to learn about the latest advances by Oxfordshire’s scientists.
The Minister for Culture and Creative Industries visited Wallingford’s Fugro.
The Wantage and Didcot MP said: “I was delighted to visit Fugro.
“It’s another reminder that South Oxfordshire is a world-class centre for scientific excellence, with more and more companies choosing to base themselves here to take advantage of the superb skills we have here.”
Wallingford is also home to the Natural Environment Research Council’s Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, the Environment Agency and Rowse Honey.
On Friday, Mr Vaizey visited homes in Steventon to see the impact of flooding in the area.
