The family of former Lord Mayor Bill Baker have collected £600 for city NHS cancer services.
The cash was given to the Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre at Headington’s Churchill Hospital after the death of the former Oxford City Council leader in January aged 78, after a long illness.
Mr Baker’s wife Vicky, and sons Paul, Mark and Adam have been “overwhelmed” by support from family and friends.
During his 1997/1998 year as Lord Mayor, Labour councillor Mr Baker awarded the Freedom of the City to Nelson Mandela.
