ARCHERY was a bit hit at a holiday activity day for children and teenagers.

The sessions, run over the past two weeks over school Easter holidays, saw hundreds of youngsters take part in outdoor activities at charity youth project Trax in Woodstock Road, Oxford. On Wednesday about 28 children rode quad bikes, fixed bikes and played archery.

Trax archery instructor Ken Chrisp said: “They go away with a grin as big as a Cheshire cat, they just don’t want to pack up – it has been superb.

“The biggest trouble is getting them to have a lunch break, and it is amazing what it does to their confidence when they start hitting yellows [on the target].”
