CAR boot sales are usually full of junk that people no longer need.

But the event on Sunday at Cornbury Park promises to be a slightly classier affair.

In previous years thousands of people have turned up to have a rummage and to raise cash for charity Rosy – Respite nursing for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters.

Each pitch costs £50 and boots will be filled with top-of-the-range items.

Organiser Ali Wills said: “We will have lots of upmarket stalls offering everything from top-end bric-a-brac, furniture and soft furnishings to posh knick-knacks, vintage and good-as-new designer clothes.

“It should be a great morning out for car-booters to sell in a really lovely location.

“And there should be plenty of special and unusual items for shoppers.

“You never know, someone might unearth another Faberge egg, they say there is one somewhere in England. Will it be at Cornbury?”

The Rosy Stately car boot sale takes place in the grounds of Cornbury Park, Charlbury, on Sunday, from 9am to 1pm.

Entry is £5 for adults and children under 16 get in free. Refreshments will be available.
